Friends of Larchmont Parks, an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, works with the Village of Larchmont to improve, beautify, and assist with the development and maintenance of the public parks in our community. As the steward of Larchmont parks, our goal is to strategically plan and fundraise for projects which will better our parks for all. It is our hope that with this work, we can secure the good keeping of our beloved parks for generations.
Friends of Larchmont Parks was created in 2017 by a group of concerned citizens who saw the potential for improving our local parks. To realize our local parks full potential supplemental philanthropic funding is needed. Working together, we can succeed in revitalizing these critical green public spaces, which will in turn benefit the well-being of our town, local downtown businesses and our community as a whole.
Our inaugural project was the development and restoration of Constitution Park. This central community green space located next to the Village Hall and a neighbor to the Library, several houses of worship, FASNY, and our Boston Post Road Commercial area previously had untapped potential. The revitalized park now features a fully accessible promenade, a commons area for concerts and special events, a “natural concept” children’s playground and sculpture garden all arranged around an upgraded terraced gazebo on a masonry pedestal. The new Constitution park will serve as a community hub for gatherings, events, and play, as well as a quiet spot to read, rest and reflect.
