Love Your Park Day 2018
Saturday, April 28, 9- 11 am

Please join us for Larchmont’s 1st Annual Love Your Park Day! -Sponsored and Hosted by Friends of Larchmont Parks and the Larchmont Newcomers Club

Mark your calendars and plan to join your Larchmont friends and neighbors for a very special morning cleaning and revitalizing our town’s parks and green spaces. Each year, our town eagerly awaits the arrival of spring, and this year will be especially meaningful following the recent winter storms. Organized in conjunction with the Village of Larchmont, neighborhood associations will lead volunteers to help spruce up our parks, playgrounds and public spaces – and your involvement is critical! Make this a family event – all ages are welcome, and everyone can make a difference! In celebration of Arbor Day weekend, the Village of Larchmont will donate and plant a tree at each of the participating parks: Pine Brook, Turtle, Willow and Flint. Beautification of Manor Park will also be led by the Manor Park Society in coordination with Love Your Park Day. Rain or shine. Bring your gear: shovels, rakes, gloves and gardening tools needed.

Our mission is to partner with the Village of Larchmont to improve, beautify, and assist with ongoing maintenance for the public parks in our community.  As stewards of the parks our goal is to fundraise for these projects and to coordinate with the community to promote events in the parks.  It is our hope that with this work, we can secure the good keeping of our beloved parks for generations.

Friends of Larchmont Parks, an all-volunteer pending 501 c3 non-profit, was created in 2017 by a group of citizens who believe that the vibrancy of our public spaces benefits the well-being of our citizens and downtown business community.  Conceived by a fundraising need for Constitution Park next to Village Hall, our vision quickly grew to care for other green spaces around the town.

As stewards of the park, we want to provide opportunities for active and passive recreation so that all ages of our community can use our spaces in a way that is fitting to their lifestyle.
